creative dance
Creative dance is a beginning foundation of dance movement for children ages 3 1/2 to 5 1/2. Creative dance teaches self expression, movement exploration, musicality, rhythm, coordination, locomotor and non-locomotor skills. Periodically, tumbling is introduced to develop a child's gross motor skills and strength. Tap is introduced when children are 5 years old. They learn pantomime, singing, and further develop their coordination and musicality skills. These dance movement skills are necessary in a ballet program and need to be developed and learned prior to the pre-ballet program.
Not only are children learning the basics of dance and creative movement in a structured creative dance education, they also learn how to listen, follow directions, share, and interact with other children helping them prepare for their whole education.
It is so much fun, children think they are coming to class to play!
